CHRISTMAS PARTY, THE WESTERN WAY

As the sun rises on December 22, 2016 cowboys and cowgirls arrive at the perimeter of NIA Region 3 Office, as if there is a battle in the west. Every employee wore gorgeous western attire to attend the 2016 NIA Regionwide Christmas Party.  And take note, even our partner Irrigators Association was also present and celebrated the party.

The occasion started with a mass officiated by Rev. Father Bobby Mariano,  where he gave emphasis the value of giving in his homily. He also praised the NIA for having such a wonderful yearly celebration of Christmas, the day when Baby Jesus was born.

After the mass, the program proper officially started with the welcome message rendered by Madam Rochelle R. Cervantes, Manager of the Administrative and Finance Division of NIA Region 3 and concurrent of the Balog-balog Multi Purpose Project – Phase II.

In compliance with the policies of the Gender And Development (GAD), the Christmas Party celebration included information dissemination to the laws in relation to Violence Against Women and Children and many more. Also, a cultural presentation contest was participated by all Irrigation Management Offices including the BBMP – II.

Concomitant with the affair, the giving of plaques of recognition and Christmas gifts to 2016 retirees of NIA Region 3 and BBMP II.  Likewise, the awarding and recognizing the Best Maintained Irrigation Canals, Most Improved NIS and CIS was conducted. The awarding was led by the untiring NIA Regional Manager and concurrent Project Manager of BBMP II, Josephine B. Salazar with the assistance of EOD Manager Virgilio J. Ilao and AFD Manager Rochelle R. Cervantes.

To make the occasion more fun and surprising, a raffle draw was conducted every now and then. Several gifts, from groceries to appliances were given away as prizes to lucky winners. On the other hand, cash prices was granted to the winners in the Christmas Party Cultural Presentation, playing after the year’s theme “Ngayong Pasko, NIA at Magsasaka hawak kamay sa Pagbabago. Unexpectedly, the best cowboy/cowgirl attire was also selected and given cash award.

Christmas messages were also delivered by the distinguished Managers of the three (3) Irrigation Management Office and of the Assistant Project Manager of the BBMP II.

The 2016 NIA Region 3 and BBMP Christmas Party celebration was being more lively and merrier by the songs rendered by the live band courtesy of Engr. Leopoldo Maniego.
