As boosting farmers’ income and maximizing production being the prime target of the Administration in the sector of agriculture, now rolling out is the 1st batch of “Agri-Puhunan at Pantawid” program, an initiative spearheaded by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr., and NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen.
To support this initiative, a three-day Orientation and Hands-On Tutorial on the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) application registration is now ongoing at the NIA Region III Farmers Training Center, January 27-29, 2025. The program provides farmers with an enhanced credit facility offering low-interest loans, enabling them to purchase agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment through DA-accredited merchants.
Among those in the program are OIC Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Sector, and concurrent NIA Central Luzon Manager Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, DA OIC-Director, Field Operations Lorna Belinda L. Calda, NIA Region III EOD Manager Engr. Christian C. Manalo, NIA Central Office Management Information Division Manager Sussie T. Taniegra CDO IV, IDD-OD Maricel M. Del Rosario and IDP implementers, RSBSA focal persons, NIA representatives together with the staff of DA's Information and Communications Technology Service. On it, participants will learn to navigate the RSBSA application, verify and enroll farmer data, and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring accurate and efficient registration for the Agri-Puhunan at Pantawid (APP) program.
Targeting more than 1.2 million hectares of agricultural land, the program will bring about sustainability in farming and a better living condition to Filipino farmers. With this digital literacy and system knowledge equipping the stakeholders, the program reinforces the commitment of the government toward food security and empowerment of the farmer.
