On April 15, 2024, NIA OIC-Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Sector and concurrent NIA Region III Regional Manager Engr. Josephine B. Salazar convened with Bulacan 3rd District Representative Hon. Lorna C. Silverio and the officers/members of Malapajo Farmers Irrigators Association (Malapajo FIA) to discuss important matters, such as assistance for irrigation canal, exploration of new water source for irrigation, and system management.
Located at Sitio Malapajo, Brgy. Sta Rita (Bata), San Miguel, Bulacan, Malapajo FIA has a service area of 186 hectares with 101 farmer-beneficiaries. It is under the service area of NIA Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems (NIA UPRIIS) Division IV.
NIA Region III Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Christian C. Manalo and Bulacan IMO Manager Engr. Placida C. Cordero were present in the meeting. It symbolizes the commitment of NIA in advocating unity and bayanihan among stakeholders towards irrigation development and food sufficiency in the country.
