The NIA-Bulacan Irrigation Management Office - Engineering Section conducted a geo-resistivity test on February 7, 2025, in Alagao, San Ildefonso to evaluate the feasibility of a proposed solar pump project. This initiative aims to enhance irrigation efficiency and support local farmers by providing a sustainable water source.
If implemented, the solar pump project is expected to benefit 44 farmers and irrigate 110 hectares of farmland under the Alagao Irrigators Association (IA). By expanding irrigated areas, the project seeks to improve agricultural productivity and ensure a more reliable water supply for farming communities.
The geo-resistivity test was conducted by the Engineering Section’s Survey Team spear of Engr. Jenka Reign T. Acuzar and Engr. Marnie M. David. This assessment is a crucial step in determining the suitability of the location for groundwater extraction using solar-powered irrigation technology.
Moreover, NIA-Bulacan IMO remains committed to implementing innovative and sustainable irrigation solutions to support farmers and enhance agricultural development in the region.
