CONG DADONG DAM INSPECTION AND MANAGEMENT UPDATE AMID TYPHOON KRISTINE

As Typhoon Kristine approaches the region, proactive measures continue to manage water levels at Cong Dadong Dam in Arayat, Pampanga. Led by Engr. Clarita G. Silverio, Chief of Operations and Maintenance of Pampanga Delta River Irrigation Systems (PDRIS), the dam gates have been gradually opened since October 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM, to regulate water flow and safeguard surrounding communities.

Earlier today, Engr. Silverio conducted a field inspection of the dam to monitor ongoing operations. The dam's water level remains at 8.2 meters, staying safely below the 8.7-meter spilling level. Adjustments to the sluice gates are ongoing to maintain this balance and avoid potential overflow.

The PDRIS Team is committed to continuous monitoring and responsive gate operations throughout the typhoon's duration. Their objective remains focused on maintaining safety, ensuring stability, and preventing any significant flooding downstream.
