In partnership with the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), NIA Bulacan IMO, headed by Division Manager Engr. Placida C. Cordero, authorized Operations and Maintenance Section Chief Engr. Ernesto L. Mapoy, Jr. to spearhead the Crop Insurance Coordination Meeting with the supervision of the NIA Region III Engineering and Operations Division on April 25, 2024, in Barangay Cansinala Covered Court, Apalit, Pampanga. The attendees of the meeting were the farmers from Cansinala Damayan ng Magpapatubig IA with the pilot area in rice contract farming, PCIC Regional Office Representative Engr. Ed Manalili, Cansinala Barangay Chairperson Hon. Fernando Mandap, Sr., Bulacan IMO Contract Farming Focal Person Engr. Rodino M. Bautista, and Operations and Maintenance Section personnel.
The meeting aims to provide insurance protection against losses arising from natural calamities, plant diseases, and pest infestations of their palay crops to the farmers who signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Rice Contract Farming with NIA Bulacan IMO.
