Empowering Future Innovators: ZIMO Hosts STEM Students for Work Immersion

On February 18, 2025, the Zambales Irrigation Management Office (ZIMO) warmly welcomed students from Bancal Integrated School and Botolan National High School, who are currently enrolled in the STEM strand, for their work immersion orientation. This event was designed to provide the students with valuable insights into the world of irrigation management and related fields.

The orientation covered a broad range of topics, beginning with an introduction to the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), including its mission, vision, and organizational structure. Students learned about the significance of irrigation systems, their vital role in agriculture, and how these systems contribute to the country's economic development.

They took a tour of the different sections to see how the workplace operates. This allowed them to observe the day-to-day operations of the office and better understand the roles of different departments in managing irrigation systems. The students were introduced to their mentors and assigned to different sections or departments where they will work closely.

This immersive experience aims to provide the students with practical knowledge and skills that will help them better understand what to expect in the real world. By experiencing the realities of the corporate environment in the context of irrigation management, the students will be equipped with essential insights that will benefit their future careers, especially in fields related to engineering, agriculture, and management. Ultimately, the work immersion aims to prepare them for the professional challenges and opportunities they will encounter as they progress in their academic and career paths.
