The Division Manager of NIA Pampanga-Bataan IMO, Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, served as a resource speaker at the 1st Camaru Festival Agricultural Conference 2024. The event took place at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Audio-Visual Center, Pampanga State Agricultural University on August 15-16, 2024.
Representing NIA Regional Director Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, Engr. Llamas highlighted the programs and projects of NIA, focusing on the Rice Contract Farming Program proposed by NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen. This initiative aims to strengthen rice production and improve the livelihoods of farmers through strategic partnerships and support.
The conference is attended by farmers, fishermen, and agricultural students. It aimed to address important challenges and concerns in the agriculture industry. These include issues related to food security, climate change resilience, sustainable farming practices, and the adoption of modern technological innovations.
As a part of the Camaru Festival, the conference brought together agricultural stakeholders to discuss innovations and strategies for the advancement of the local agricultural sector.
