Irrigators Association (IA) members from Matayumtayum Palacpalac FIA and Tisya FIA strengthened their commitment to inclusive agricultural practices through a Gender and Development (GAD) Training on September 5-6, 2024 in La Paz, Tarlac.
Organized by NIA Tarlac-San Miguel-O’Donnell RIS (TASMORIS) personnel, the training aims to raise awareness of the societal norms, attitudes, and structures that limit opportunities for both men and women in rural farming communities. It focused on breaking the barriers that hinder equal participation in agricultural activities, emphasizing the importance of collective action and shared decision-making among farmers. It also highlighted how agricultural reform programs could contribute to equality by providing farmers with greater access to resources, markets, and technologies.
Through these efforts, participants gained insights into improving their agricultural production and expanding economic opportunities.
