The NIA and Bataan LGU has partnered with Israeli Consultants to make this Drip Irrigation Project come true. This is a type of micro-irrigation system that has the potential to save water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface to be able to place water directly into the root zone and minimize evaporation.
This Joint Drip Irrigation Project of NIA and Bataan LGU consists of 10 Pilot Farms, 7 of which are funded by NIA and 3 of which are funded by the LGU of Dinalupihan Bataan. It covers about 10 hectares of land area with various crops such as Carrots, Onions, String Beans, Pechay, Lettuce, Ampalaya, Eggplant, Chili, Tomato, Squash, and Watermelon.
