Forty-three design engineers from Regions I, II, IV-B, V, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (MARIIS) participated in the Skills Development Training for Detailed Engineering Design of Diversion Works and its Appurtenant Structures, Design of Pumps, and River on September 18-30, 2023, at NIA-Regional Office III, Brgy. Tambubong, San Rafael, Bulacan.
The 12-day training aims to enhance the capability of design engineers in the preparation of Detailed Engineering Design and key processes in the Detailed Engineering Project preparation phase for Diversion Works in their respective offices.
Regional Manager Engr. Josephine B. Salazar extended her warm welcome to the guests and participants of the training being the host office of the said training. Also, she manifested that the participants of the training being the new breed of engineers will soon be the future managers and administrators of the agency.
In his message, Senior Deputy Administrator Engr. Robert C. Suguitan gave words of inspiration to the design engineers being the new breed of engineers.
"Kayo ang magiging pundasyon ng NIA in terms of designing our irrigation facilities that will last for years. Make these opportunities serious engagements. Sana matuto kayo for the good of the country", he said.
The skills training was facilitated by staff from the NIA Central Office Design and Specifications Division headed by Acting Manager Engr. Emilio M. Domagas, Jr. and Acting Chief of Civil Works Design Section Engr. Roald Marck J. Revellame.
Present also in the activity were the Division Managers of NIA-Region III and NIA Central Office Engineering Department Acting Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay who delivered an opening remarks.
