The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office (PamBat IMO) Engineering Section, in collaboration with the Planning and Design Section of NIA Regional Office and NIA Central Office, conducted a site validation and coordination meeting for the proposed diversion dam in Barangay Calumpang from January 27 to 31, 2025.
The coordination meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office and the City Government of Mabalacat’s Planning and Development Office. The discussion centered on aligning efforts between NIA and local government units to address the province’s irrigation needs, reinforcing a shared commitment to agricultural sustainability and community resilience through well-planned infrastructure projects.
Following the courtesy call and coordination meeting, the NIA team, accompanied by barangay officials, proceeded with an on-site validation to assess the project’s feasibility and potential impact. This initiative marks a significant step toward ensuring the successful planning and designing of the proposed project, which is expected to enhance irrigation efficiency and support local farmers in the region.
