To mitigate the impact of the ongoing Typhoon Kristine, the NIA Camiling River Irrigation System (CAMRIS) staff conducted an inspection and monitoring of the electro-mechanical gates at Magsaysay Dam in Nambalan, Mayantoc, Tarlac, on October 24, 2024.
The inspection, led by Acting O&M Chief Engr. Rogelio D. Velasco, Jr., along with Mr. Alan B. Guting, Engr. Kevin C. Guting, and Mr. Elmer U. Natividad, is part of NIA CAMRIS' standard safety measures.
Through checking the operational readiness of the gates, the team ensures the system is equipped to handle heavy rainfall to protect communities and agricultural lands that depend on the dam's water supply.
Futhermore, this is also to ensure preparedness for the potential onslaught of the storm in the CAMRIS service area.
