The National Irrigation Administration Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office (NIA PamBat IMO) kicked off 2025 with a site inspection of the solar-powered irrigation project in Brgy. Pabanlag, Floridablanca, Pampanga, on January 3.
Led by PamBat IMO Manager Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, together with Acting Chief of the Engineering Section Engr. Angelito D. David and Project-in-Charge Engr. Avelino C. Sazon, the visit aimed to evaluate the project's progress and functionality. The team assessed the distribution of water to the fields, observing how the system provides a reliable water supply to 38 farmers under the Pabanlag Irrigators Association (IA). The project has the capacity to irrigate 45 hectares of farmland.
During the inspection, Pabanlag IA Chairman Ricarte Montemayor demonstrated the water flowing from the pump, highlighting the system’s ability to deliver adequate irrigation for rice fields.
This initiative aims to improve crop yields, reducing irrigation costs, and promoting sustainable farming practices.
