On July 24, 2024, NIA Pampanga-Bataan IMO has intensified its monitoring efforts of various irrigation systems to safeguard communities and infrastructure amidst the impact of Typhoon Carina.
Led by Porac Gumain River Irrigation System (PGRIS) Acting Chief Engr. Alexius S. Academia and Senior Institutional Development Officer Reyna S. Sabado, the monitoring of dams in the Gumain Division was initiated to further manage water flows strategically. These are part of NIA's broader strategy to mitigate the typhoon effects on both agricultural and residential areas that are dependent on these irrigation systems.
NIA's commitment to community safety and infrastructure integrity remains steadfast as they navigate the challenges posed by the typhoon.
