The National Irrigation Administration’s Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office (PamBat IMO) has ramped up its dam monitoring as a response to orange rainfall warning currently affecting Bataan.The Operations Staff from the Bataan Satellite Office are on heightened alert closely watching over the province’s critical dams including Colo, Mangindong, Layac, Balsic, and Tangilad SRIS.
Consequently, because of its potential for significant rainfall and rising water levels, the agency is in coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (MDRRMC) of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, and Samal.
Moreover, updates on dam conditions are being sent out every three hours to keep local authorities and communities informed and to facilitate timely safety measures as necessary.
