The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) brought affordable rice to the PAMAngabyanan Agri-Business Trade Fair during the 453rd Pampanga Day celebration at the Capitol Compound, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on December 4 and 6, 2024.
Led by Engr. Clarita G. Silverio, Chief of Operations and Maintenance for the Pampanga Delta River Irrigation Systems, and supported by PamBat IMO Manager Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, the initiative sold 500 sacks of Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka (BBM) Rice at just P29 per kilo. The program prioritized marginalized groups, including beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWD), and solo parents.
The event, part of the KADIWA ng Pangulo sa NIA initiative, reflects NIA’s commitment to food security and its dedication to supporting farmers and vulnerable sectors. This effort aligns with the government’s mission to provide accessible and affordable commodities to those in need while promoting inclusive community engagement during Pampanga Day.
