NIA Region III receives seeds from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region III worth P298,068.00 for the Gulayamanan/Gulayan sa Canal Program. Part of the program is to plant diversified crops in various parts of irrigation systems of the region like main canal and lateral canals.
NIA Regional Manager Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, together with Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Christian C. Manalo, accepted the seeds from DA Region III Executive Director Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz, Jr. for the Irrigators Association of NIA Region 3 (Central Luzon).
The implementation of the Gulayamanan or Gulayan sa Canal Program follows the directive of the administration to utilize spaces along irrigation canal. This also aims to support local food production, thereby ensuring additional income and food security to Filipino farmers.
