In the 2nd Quarter of the year, NIA Tarlac CIS IA Federation participated in the Social, Technological, Educational, and Exchange Program (STEEP) under the NIA Aurora-Nueva Ecija Irrigation Management Office (ANE IMO) in Baler, Aurora.
This event aimed to establish positive relationship with other IA Federations and gain firsthand insights into the advanced development of various irrigation systems and facilities. The Tarlac CIS IA Federation selected ANE IMO as the site for this program due to its exemplary practices in irrigation management, hoping to gather valuable information and strategies.
The STEEP activity was designed to equip participants with alternative irrigation system management techniques and a comprehensive understanding of different Operation and Maintenance (O&M) procedures based on the type of irrigation structure. Through this program, participants were able to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and concerns of their systems, which will help improve the performance and cohesion of their irrigation operations. Additionally, the program aimed to foster positive working relationship and teamwork among the Irrigators Associations (IAs), ensuring a collaborative and well-directed approach to the irrigation system.
