NIA ZAMBALES IMO STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY

In line with its commitment to boosting agricultural productivity in the Province of Zambales, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Zambales IMO actively participated in the Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC) Meeting held at the Municipal Hall of Masinloc, Zambales on January 23, 2025. Representing the agency were Acting Chief of the Operation and Maintenance Section, Engr. Tito M. Lacanlale, and Mr. Randy A. Balauro.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the council's 2024 achievements in agriculture and fisheries and to outline plans and programs for 2025. Key highlights included a presentation by Mr. Jan Exequiel Soriano, APCO for Zambales, DA RFO-III, who detailed the Department of Agriculture’s initiatives, such as the provision of heavy equipment and shallow tube well (STW) pumps. Mr. Soriano also explained the process for availing these resources to support farmers and fisherfolk in the province.

Engr. Lacanlale contributed by presenting NIA’s Irrigation Program for 2025, which includes proposed irrigation projects and updates on the ongoing solar pump program. Mr. Balauro elaborated on the requirements for availing of the solar pump program and encouraged participants to visit the NIA Zambales IMO office for more information.

This collaboration highlights NIA’s proactive efforts to align with local agricultural initiatives, fostering a unified approach toward sustainable agricultural development and ensuring a productive future for Zambales' farming and fishing communities.
