The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Tarlac IMO facilitated the release of the Operation and Maintenance Subsidy for Dry Crop 2024 to the Tarlac CIS Federation, amounting to P4.434 million, and the TASMORIS NIS Federation, amounting to P5.618 million at NIA Tarlac IMO, Jefmin, Concepcion, Tarlac, October 17, 2024.
This funding is essential for maintaining irrigation infrastructure, ensuring that farmers in Tarlac can maximize agricultural productivity during the dry season. With the collated efforts of the Institutional Development Unit Staff headed by Mr. Owen Matias and guided by Engr. Alvin Roberto A. David, Division Manager of NIA Tarlac IMO, the agency highlighted that the assistance will enable the federations to sustain irrigation facilities vital for local agriculture.
The subsidy, part of the CY 2024 Dry Season O&M program, is a result of the recently amended Memorandum Circular No. 147, Series of 2023. This amendment has significantly increased the subsidy rate from P150 to P500 per hectare per cropping, providing enhanced financial support to farmers facing the challenges of dry cropping conditions.
