In anticipation of Typhoon Pepito's expected landfall, the Porac Gumain River Irrigation System (PGRIS), under the Pampanga-Bataan IMO, with the efforts of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Section, led by Engr. Alexius S. Academia, carried out an inspection of key dam facilities on November 15, 2024.
At Solib Dam, the team inspected the lifting mechanisms to ensure readiness for emergency gate operations, especially considering ongoing construction activities downstream at the dam's apron and at Sto. Cristo Dam.
Similarly, at the Pecson checkgate, engineers assessed the newly installed chain block system to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of steel gates. These efforts are aimed at preventing potential flooding and minimizing risks to upstream communities.
