On September 11, 2024, NIA Region III, NIA Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (UPRIIS), and DA Regional Field Office III (DA RFO III) virtually presented the Final Regional Irrigation Master Plan (RIMP) 2023-2030 of Central Luzon to the Top Management.
NIA Senior Deputy Administrator Engr. Robert C. Suguitan, DA Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE) Director Engr. Ariodear C. Rico, and BSWM-OIC Chief Water Resources Management Division (WRMD) Engr. Diosdado M. Manalus presided over the said activity.
The presentation of Central Luzon RIMP was spearheaded by Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, Regional Manager of NIA Region III, Engr. Christian C. Manalo, Engineering and Operation Division Manager, and Engr. Kristoffer A. Santiago, Planning and Design Section Chief. It includes the final regional irrigation strategies with national priorities as outlined in the National Irrigation Master Plan (NIMP). RIMP is crucial in addressing the challenges on irrigation development and ensuring food security and poverty reduction. It also addresses issues like climate change, land use change, inefficient water management, and crop diversification.
RIMP Technical Working Group (TWG) of NIA Central Office, NIA Region III, NIA UPRIIS, NIA Irrigation Management Office (IMO), and DA RFO III participated in the said activity.
