The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), under the leadership of University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, and NIA Tarlac IMO, headed by Division Manager Engr. Alvin Roberto A. David, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lukung Dam Irrigators Association of Concepcion Inc. (LIRAC IA) represented by IA President Renato D. Simbillo.
Recognized for its excellence in irrigation practices, LIRAC IA has garnered significant achievements, including 6th place in the Outstanding IA category in 2022 and 2nd place in the Outstanding IA CIS category nationwide. These accolades earned them the title of Model Farm, positioning them as catalysts in promoting sustainable agriculture. The recent MOA further strengthens its role, outlining TAU's commitment to providing extensive technical support to LIRAC IA. This support includes training on greenhouse operation and maintenance, drip irrigation systems, high-value crop production, and comprehensive farm planning.
TAU's involvement also extends to assisting in market analysis, guiding crop selection, and regularly monitoring and evaluating the farm's operations. Through this collaboration, the Lukung Dam IA is expected to set new benchmarks in sustainable farming within the province. The Institutional Development Unit Head and Staff of NIA Tarlac IMO played a key role in establishing this partnership, ensuring that the IA members receive the necessary guidance and resources to optimize their farming practices and improve crop yields.
