The NIA Camiling River Irrigation System (CAMRIS) convened a System Management Committee (SMC) Meeting on October 2, 2024 at the Hostel Function Hall of Tarlac Agricultural University in Malacampa, Camiling, Tarlac. This brings together various stakeholders to discuss the matters relating to the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system.
Highlighting the significance of collaboration, DA Regional Technical Director Dr. Arthur D. Dayrit emphasized the importance of consistent communication among NIA, IAs, and other government agencies. This regular forum fosters a transparent exchange of information, updates, and strategies that are vital to the sustainability and effective operation of irrigation systems. The discussion focused on improving service delivery to farmers and ensuring the timely implementation of irrigation programs.
The activity served as a platform for addressing operational concerns while enhancing coordination between local government units and agencies. CAMRIS Acting Chief Engr. Rogelio D. Velasco, Jr. and staff led the meeting, together with IDU Head Owen A. Matias, under the leadership of Engr. Alvin Roberto A. David Division Manager of NIA Tarlac IMO.
Barangay Captains from Camiling, Mayantoc, Santa Ignacia, and San Clemente, along with representatives from 25 Irrigators Associations (IAs), and government agencies such as the DA, NFA, PCIC, PhilRice, and DA-OPA Tarlac were present in the event.
