The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) continues to uphold its commitment to the efficient management of irrigation systems with the ongoing Inter-IMO Canal Maintenance Visitation 2024.
Led by Regional Manager Engr. Josephine B. Salazar and the NIA Region III Inspectorate Team, they visited the NIA Tarlac IMO and its satellite offices, CAMRIS, and TASMORIS. The inspection provided an in-depth assessment of irrigation canals and structures, highlighting the role played by the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) personnel and Irrigators Associations (IAs) in maintaining these infrastructures.
This activity offered a platform for the O&M Section to demonstrate its efforts and effectiveness while providing an opportunity to show areas requiring further attention. Tarlac IMO Manager Engr. Alvin Roberto A. David led the group in traversing 30.474 kilometers of main and lateral canals in CAMRIS and 16.74 kilometers in TASMORIS. As the convoy passed through the areas, IA members eagerly waited and greeted the guests, offering snacks and their products. This reinforces the strong partnership between NIA and IAs and serves as their way of expressing gratitude to the NIA personnel.
Awarded as Best Irrigation System in 2022 and 2023, NIA CAMRIS is aiming for its third consecutive victory in 2024. Both CAMRIS and TASMORIS sharing hopes for continued success this year. This annual visitation is not just a routine inspection. It is a testament to the collaborative efforts among NIA, IAs, and the entire regional management team in striving for irrigation excellence.
