Thirty farmers from Diaman Conversion Pantabangan Irrigators Association participated in the Training-Workshop on Vegetable Processing with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on August 28-30, 2024 in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. In partnership with NIA Aurora-Nueva Ecija Irrigation Management Office (ANE IMO), the Agriculture Training Institute (ATI) Region III facilitated the training in support to the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program of DSWD Region III.
NIA ANE IMO untiringly asks for assistance and coordinates with different line agencies to help the IAs become more self-reliant, developed, and equipped associations. NIA and DSWD joined forces to help a chosen IA. They prepared all communications, materials, and documents to come up with the training schedule.
The farmers had a hands-on practicum on Vegetable Processing and Marketing Strategy Analysis at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. Ms. Gula D. Reyes, DMO II of ATI, CLSU Assoc. Prof. Jessica M. Rustia, Assoc. Prof. Joan D. Dar, Assoc. Prof. Geraldin G, Tayag, Asst. Prof. Marah Kathleen F. Valimento served as the trainers.
Diaman Conversion Pantabangan IA was a beneficiary of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) which became the basis for the provision of capacity-building trainings. It would not be possible without the support of Mr. Cedric Reyes from DSWD and NIA ANE Acting IMO Manager Engr. Arnel S. Alipio.
