DOLE TUPAD ORIENTATION AND CONTRACT SIGNING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NIA TASMORIS

In a significant boost to the agricultural community, 124 farmers from Tarlac City District 2 will benefit from the collaborative program between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and NIA Tarlac Irrigation Management Office (Tarlac IMO). The initiative is part of DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program. Recently, an orientation and contract signing for the participating farmers from the municipalities of Tarlac City, Victoria, and Gerona was conducted.

Through this program, the farmers from the NIA Tarlac San Miguel O'Donnell River Irrigation System (TASMORIS) can gain an additional source of income. They were hired to work for 10 days, earning ₱500.00 daily. The farmers are divided into three groups to perform canal clearing in various areas: San Vicente to Binauganan, Matatalaib to Tariji, and Tariji to Dalayap in Tarlac City.

TASMORIS Chief Engr. Enrique G. Carlos, Senior Institutional Development Officer Rachelle Eugenia G. Dizon, representative of Congressman Christian Yap Ruffy Pascua, and DOLE-Tarlac TUPAD Coordinators, Ronnie G. Dela Cruz, Jr. and Mr. Vincent Ursabia, were present in the event.
