Following the initial announcement of the partnership between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and NIA Tarlac San Miguel O’Donnell River Irrigation System (TASMORIS), the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program was officially launched. The program began on June 14, 2024 with three groups of farmers undertaking canal clearing in various areas: San Vicente to Binauganan, Matatalaib to Tariji, and Tariji to Dalayap in Tarlac City.
Beneficiaries are expected to complete their tasks by June 24, 2024, over a span of 10 days. Early reports indicate positive engagement and enthusiasm among the participants. The implementation of the TUPAD Program by NIA TASMORIS and DOLE is anticipated to yield significant benefits, including increased opportunities for disadvantaged workers, improved agricultural productivity, and enhanced community development in the province.
Regular monitoring and evaluation throughout the program duration will assess its effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. This ensures that the program remains responsive to beneficiaries’ needs and contributes to sustainable agricultural development.
