Today, July 12, 2024, NIA Bulacan IMO Engineering Section conducted an inspection of the completed solar-powered pump projects in Umpucan Irrigators Association and Tulay na Patpat Irrigators Association in San Ildefonso, Bulacan under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program- Irrigation Component (CARP-IC). Covering an aggregate service area of 55 hectares, the projects will benefit 38 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).
Through solar-powered pump irrigation projects, NIA institutes measures to reduce the impact of the El Niño situation in the municipality where the construction of dams may not be feasible. By constructing more solar power irrigation projects, NIA can help in boosting farmers' harvests. Engr. Placida C. Cordero, Division Manager of NIA Bulacan IMO, and Engr. Wendell C. Martin, Engineering Section Chief, led the conduct of inspection with the presence of Umpucan IA President Rodolfo Agustin and Basuit IA President Deogracias Sanguyo, together with IA members, were also present at the project site.
