To strengthen field capacity on soil assessment and fertilizer management, NIA – Zambales IMO conducted a two-day Re-echo Training on Soil Test Kit (STK) Utilization last June 9–10, 2025, at the IMO Conference Room.
The training was designed for staff from the Institutional Development Unit (IDU) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Section.
Participants were trained on proper soil sampling, STK operation, result interpretation, and fertilizer recommendation based on soil condition. These skills will help field workers guide farmers in improving soil health, using fertilizer efficiently, and increasing crop yield.
The STK enables accurate, cost-effective, and sustainable fertilization decisions. By equipping its field staff, NIA Zambales IMO aims to promote better nutrient management and support higher farm productivity in irrigated areas.
