To strengthen field capacity on soil assessment and fertilizer management, NIA – Zambales IMO conducted a two-day Re-echo Training on Soil Test Kit (STK) Utilization last June 9–10, 2025, at the IMO Conference Room.

The training was designed for staff from the Institutional Development Unit (IDU) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Section.

To improve water flow for farmers, the NIA PamBat IMO conducted a desilting activity at the Miyabe-Abe Irrigators Association (IA) in Brgy. San Agustin, Candaba, Pampanga. The team cleared Lateral 1, covering approximately 3 kilometers. This effort benefits 98 farmers and ensures smoother irrigation delivery to 319 hectares of farmland.

The NIA PamBat IMO, through its Bataan Satellite Office, completed the desilting of Valencia Creek (BSM 6) in Brgy. Colo from June 20 to 24, 2025. This work restored the flow of irrigation water through the lateral earth canal, which had not been desilted in years.

The project benefits the Colo Farmers Irrigators Association (FIA), serving 15 farmers and improving irrigation across 20.76 hectares of farmland. The restoration is expected to boost farm productivity and improve harvests for the upcoming season.

The NIA Bulacan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) conducted a canal desilting operation along Lateral B in Division 2, located at Brgy. Malamig, Bustos, Bulacan, under the Angat-Maasim River Irrigation System (AMRIS).

This activity aims to restore the canal’s full water-carrying capacity by removing accumulated silt and debris, ensuring uninterrupted irrigation flow to nearby farmlands. The operation benefits the Malamig San Jose Irrigators, Inc., serving a total of 35.11 hectares of agricultural land.

The NIA Bulacan IMO carried out canal desilting operations along Victoria Creek, covering the stretch from Bahay Pare to Paligui in Candaba, Pampanga, under the Angat-Maasim River Irrigation System (AMRIS), on June 21, 2025.

The activity aimed to clear silt and debris to enhance water flow and ensure efficient irrigation delivery. It supports 378.81 hectares of farmland, benefiting members of the Iisang Damdamin Irrigators Association, Inc.
